I was presented with a chance of a life time to join a great group of guys for two weeks of astrophotography at New Mexico Skies. NMSkies is located in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico. I want to thank Kirk Rogers for inviting me along on the trip. Although we had a run of bad weather I still had a blast and found some great friends. As a group we managed to capture some great images of the southern night skies. Week one group from left to right.

Three guys not shown in our group photo are Matt BenDaniel, Dave Shimek and Rob Burgess.

George Whitney and Kirk Rogers were kind enough to loan me their jointly owned AP900 mount for this imaging trip. I want to thank them both for the loan.

My imaging setup: Takahashi FS-128 w/OM-1 camera. Piggyback Nikon FE with 28mm to 300mm lens. Kirk also loaned me his Takahashi FS-78 as a guide scope and another Nikon camera giving me three imaging cameras.

One of our site seeing trips we made was to White Sands National Monument located near Alamogordo New Mexico. The deeper into the park we drove the whiter the landscape became. I was able to photograph some of the different vegitation which grows in this harsh invironment and I was graced with the opportunity to photograph a Bleached Earless lizard. He was nice enough to pose for several photos. I think he wants to be a movie STAR! Click on image to view White Sands images Bleached Earless Lizard
